The Skirt of All Skirts

It's official, for the first time in my life I have four of the same exact skirts hanging in my closet. Okay, maybe they are not exactly the same when it boils down to color and patterns, but they are all the same style from J.Crew and their factory store.

Yep, you probably know they one I am speaking of. I like to refer to it as "the skirt of all skirts". J.Crew has named it the "pleated mini". It seems that each new season, they take the same exact fit, style, cut and swap out colors and prints. It's genius because honestly this skirt is genius. They don't have it available on the current J.Crew site, but the factory store has four different colors available. I am not sure if this will become an exclusive outlet piece or if the retail store will bring it back.

Whatever they decide, I am keeping my fingers crossed that they let it hang around for the next year or ten. I mean, who could ask for more; an elastic waist band, almost wrinkle free, figure flattering and versatile piece that won't lose it's sparkle anytime soon.

If you are interested or need more convincing about adding "the skirt of all skirts" to your closet you can take a peek here, here and here to see how I styled the other three.

So, is there anyone out there that has more than four of these skirts? Come one, there has to be a few of you. Even if you just have one, isn't it the best? Like I said, elastic waist anything has my vote...every time...all the time.

Today, I would am happy to introduce to you Jen with Boone + Owl. Let me start off my saying that if you are looking for a blog that offers a little bit of everything, Boone + Owl is one you need to add to your reads.
What I adore about Jen is that she is writes like she is talking to her best friends. It's authentic, genuine and full of heart. She is a full time college student and somehow manages to give us a taste of so many aspects of her life. She recently got back from a trip to Hawaii. Jealous anyone? Yep, that would be me. The photos she captured were breathtaking. Jen also tends to share her love for fashion. Look how dang cute she was all while being stuck in an airport of a five hour layover. Need a hand in the kitchen? Jen has got you covered. Check out this easy-peasy red pepper and minestrone recipe she conjured up. Thanks, Jen! I will be making this soon! Probably my favorite post from her discusses skin types and tips on how to use all natural ingredients to moisturize. I never knew I could mix milk and lime juice to help my oily skin. You learn something new everyday!

See, I told you that this girl has a little bit of everything for everyone. Make sure you stop by Boone + Owl today and carve out some time to catch up. I bet you will find yourself reading for awhile.

I don't have any of those skirts, but I may have to find one. I think it would be perfect for fall!

Cute skirt but for me elastic waist looks horrible on me. My magic skirt is their pencil skirt. I am not going to admit how many of them I own :)

I can see why this is the skirt of all skirt for you - it fits you great. And having it not wrinkle is a big plus in my book.

The skirt looks so comfy, you sold me on that one. I love how vivid the color is on your flats and they go so well with the shirt.
Very simple but cute outfit.

I wholeheartedly agree this is the most amazing skirt in the entire world! I have three different J.Crew/Factory colors and prints, and then I have three MORE from Forever 21 last year (oh yes, I stocked up!).

Love how you styled all three of your skirts, and I foresee my camel skirt being on heavy rotation this fall! (might even need to make some more colors???).

I do that! I did that with LOFT's "pencil skirt in scuba." I have every color and nearly freaked when this fall they released 5 more colors. Cause if it ain't broke, why fix it?! Love it!

I actually have it in gray from factory a few years ago. But, J.Crew actually did sell the exact same style for a bit (It was in a few different colors, maybe 2 years ago) and I loved it, then saw it at Factory! Mind blow, bought right away!

Unfortunately we don't have J.Crew here in oz, so I would have to keep an eye out for them bringing it back online, but it is very cute, and very staple-worthy. Which makes four a very sensible choice! Thanks for hosting.
