Mini Me Birthday

Today marks the 8th year of the birth of my miniature me.

I don't know how one child could be so much like her mother. It's actually a tad bit scary. It's as if I am raising and living with a smaller version of myself.

Our looks
Mannerisms
Insecurities
Temper
Social butterfly tendencies
Dramatic antics
Sense of belonging
Love of fashion, shopping and lip gloss
Bossiness
Needing to be in control
High emotions
and of course, as you can see in the picture below...our POSING WAYS.

The bond that I have with my youngest doesn't compare to the bond that I share with Logan. Is it a stronger bond? No. Is Logan my favorite? Absolutely not, but we have this strange connection that I don't have with Landry.

Sometimes it works in our favor and sometimes it's a hot mess because we are so much alike.

She has tested my patience to no end. I have fought double the battles with her than with my youngest. She has driven me to pure mommy craziness.

But, her existence has provided a bond that will never be broken or replicated; a connection that I will never have with anyone else.

Even though she is too cool to hold my hand in public, she is my side kick, singing partner in the car, shopping buddy, bedtime story reader....my mini me.

I love you Logan and am so proud of all that you are, dream to be and will one day become.

I look forward to the day that we can share clothes. I know, that sounds so shallow and superficial, but I do envision that day.

You are part of my heart, soul and life...forever.

Happy Birthday, Logan. I can't believe you are 8 years old going on 18.

Now, I am off to get ready for tonight's slumber party that will consist of all things nails, toes, make up, cupcakes, giggles and a late night!

***Please don't forget to vote for me. I am in the running to be Wallis' 1st U.S. Fashion blogger.

Leopard and Lace

Okay, have you adjusted to the Thursday drill yet? If you're new to these parts, every Thursday I've been taking an outfit that I posted on Instagram and recreated it with Polyvore for your viewing shopping pleasure.

Anyone interested in making this a link up? If not, no worries. I just think it's kinda fun to bring our #ootds to the blog world and help others with their closet craziness. Ya know, so that we don't feel  isolated and all alone spending our money on stuff we really don't need. But, man, it's stuff that sure makes us feel good. Am I right? Or am I right?

This Instagram outfit selfie got more "likes" than the usual, so I figured it needed to grace it's presence on the blog. I felt like it was my civic duty to show you where you can get almost the same identical look.

Said #ootd #selfie below...

And for your shopping pleasure....here is what I created JUST for you....

Leopard & Lace

So, what do you think? Your style or no? Regardless, I do think this is a trendy, but classic look. A little leopard and lace never hurt anyone.

And by the way, did you hear I am in the running to be the Wallis US Blogger Ambassador? I am retweeting re-blogging this...

"I am BEGGING, PLEADING and BATTING MY EYES that you will go to the WALLIS Facebook page TODAY, click on their header and vote for me!! You can do this once per day until April 9th. Don't worry if you forget, I will be reminding all of you on a daily basis!

Heck, if you want to tweet it, share it or even blog about it I might slip you a Benjamin. Just sayin'!

Rock the vote, people"

I've said it once and I will say it again....happy shopping!

Love you all...truly, madly, deeply!

From the bottom of my heart, the love and support blows my mind to Pluto....is that even still considered a planet? Whatever they are teaching these days, that's the distance you ladies are sending me!

Random Wednesday #26 - I Need Your Help

 GET THE LOOK HERE:
Jacket: JCP (exact) (option) | Top: Forever 21 (exact) | Pants: Old Navy (option) (option)
Shoes: Target (option) | Bag: (option) | Necklace: Luxe Craving (exact)

You might be wondering why I said that I needed your help in my title. I will get to that in just a sec because it's HUGE for me. Like the biggest thing that has come along in my little blogging career.

But first, remember how I said I was looking for an affordable black and white blazer and that if you found one to let me know. Well, folks, I found one and wasn't even actually looking. I went into JcPenney's to check out their new Joe Fresh line (which I am not impressed with by the way) and came across this striped beaut. I had a $10 off coupon that randomly came in the mail. Score! I got this blazer for a whopping $15 after my discount.

It's perfect for the changing seasons, super light weight, has cropped sleeves, doesn't wrinkle and was less than $20. Go ahead and give me a virtual fist pump right now.

Annnnnnd now for the BIG news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man, I am nervous about even typing this!

WALLIS contacted me to see if I would be interested in participating in a style competition to become the blogging ambassador for their company. Whaaaaaa? Me? Nooooo! Yessssss!

This is ginormously huge...like an all expense paid trip to LONDON huge!

There are twenty-eight bloggers total which means my odds aren't too shabby.

They are on the hunt for their first official US Blogger Ambassador to help promote and educate consumers on the WALLIS brand as it launches into the US market. If crowned as the chosen one, not only will I jet set off to London, but will be the face of Wallisfashion.com, have the opportunity to attend US press events as well as other blogging functions related to WALLIS.

I know, crazy, right? I mean, I am not setting my hopes too high. Do I think I will really win? Nope. Do I hope and dream I will. Hell yes!!! It's all I want to do. It's what I love. It's my passion.

I am just grateful beyond words to be included and have the chance to even be considered for such an honor.

Next week I will be posting a piece I styled from WALLIS and telling everyone in America why they should pick me (wink-wink). So stay tuned.

In the meantime, I am BEGGING, PLEADING and BATTING MY EYES that you will go to the WALLIS Facebook page TODAY, click on their header and vote for me!! You can do this once per day until April 9th. Don't worry if you forget, I will be reminding all of you on a daily basis!

Heck, if you want to tweet it, share it or even blog about it I might slip you a Benjamin. Just sayin'!

Rock the vote, people!

Thank you!!!!!!!

Trophy Hunting

 GET THE LOOK HERE:
Jacket: Target (option) (option) | Top: Kohl's (exact) (option) | Jeans: Express (option) (option) | Shoes: H&M (option) | Clutch: Target (option) (option) | Necklace: Forever 21 (DIY tutorial here)

Oh, camouflage, I fallen in love with thee. I first found you on a pair of pants and now a jacket. What will be next? A skirt? Shorts? Possibly a top? Who knows where our relationship will take us.

In all seriousness, I have become quite fond of the camouflage pattern, but always associated it with hunting. And a hunter I am not, at least when it comes to animals.

Now when it comes to shopping, I am definitely a trophy hunting machine. I was on the lookout for a camouflage jacket for months. Every time I saw one I liked online or on a blog, it was either too expensive or sold out.

Low and behold, Target came through yet again. Surprised? Me neither.

Not only was this jacket hanging on the rack. It was hanging on the clearance rack for less than $25. I call that hitting it right between the eyes.

Can you believe I actually stood there for a few minutes and contemplated putting it into my red basket? The only reason I doubted it was because I live in Texas and most of us know that in Texas the weather is about to get smokin' hot. I wasn't sure if I REALLY needed to spend money on a jacket when the temps are on the rise.

As you can see my hunting and gathering skills got the best of me. I brought this little trophy home. I have been wearing it as much as possible since it's been on the chilly side the past few days. It's been given plenty of well deserved love and attention.

So, what are your thoughts on wearing camouflage outside the deer stand?

Have you been on the hunt for anything lately?

Thursday was too good to pass up

Total picture overload coming straight 'atcha on this Monday and you know what that means. It means signed, sealed and delivered weekend fun. I have been sharing snippets of my weekend life for thirty weeks now. Yes, this is my 30th recap post. My oh my, time flies when you're having fun.

Excuse the extra day that was added. I couldn't help myself. Thursday was just too good to pass up.

And, the story begins with this...

I know. You are probably so over my jib-jab about the rodeo. I think this is the third or fourth or maybe even the fifth time (I've lost count) I have bombarded you with horses, boots, cowboys and anything else associated with the topic. This should be the last of it; that is until next year. The girls had so much fun and got wrapped up in all the hoopla as much as I did. As they say, like mother, like daughter. They were troopers and made it until the very end of the rodeo and Kevin Fowler concert. Come Friday morning and getting out of bed; troopers they were not. And I do have a little bone to pick with Mr. Fowler, as if he is actually reading this now, but who knows. So, Mr. Fowler, you DID NOT sing "Hard Man to Love". Whaaaa thaaaa? It's the best song you sing. I guess you think you're too cool for it now. We totally thought an encore was coming. We waited and waited and then the arena lights came on. Total disappointment.

Then Friday happened. My girl Becks and I headed northbound on IH35 for the Big D (ya know the one, Dallas) for a girls weekend and a baby shower bonanza. We hit up this new place called Pepper Smash in The Shops at Legacy. OH.MY.WORD. This place is a MUST if you live in the Dallas/Frisco/Plano area. The mixology was out of control. I wanted to order every cocktail on the menu, but I was with two pregnant pretties, so there wasn't enough time. BUT, I did try three. One had a jalapeno kick, one was a little sour and the last was topped with COTTON CANDY. Yes, real life pink cotton candy. I tried to get a picture (see bottom right) but Mr. Server was too fast for my flash. It was DEELISH. The food? Can you say hmmmm....hmmmm....good? And the atmosphere? Swanky, hip, dark, urban, fun and I want to go back. Austin needs a place like this.

Saturday morning came too quick, but I was so excited and giddy to celebrate my other friend named Becks sock monkey themed baby shower. The girls you see in the pictures are my Delta Zeta loves. We have been friends since we were wee ones (wee ones meaning before we were twenty). They are my sisters....forever. So, Becky isn't finding out if she is having a boy or girl. Props to those of you who can wait out that surprise. Since we don't know the sex, it was a gender neutral theme and who doesn't love a little sock monkey here and there? What we DO know is this little bambino cooking in the oven will either be a Delta Zeta legacy or a future Delta Zeta hubs. Either way, it is destined to love some turtles. I love you, Becky! I can't wait to meet Baby Rube and for you to finally join the "cool kid" club of motherhood!

I wanted to share a few cute details of the shower because I know lots of you ladies out their are with child and thought it would provide a spring board of shower ideas. Remember the fascinator themed one last month?

What better way to end the weekend than with the Easter Bunny, miniature ponies, a goat and a baby chick. That's how we roll in our neighborhood. Thank you, home owners association. I am happy to see that our annual dues are spent correctly and effectively. No really, it was a great community event and I absolutely wouldn't want live anywhere else, except maybe in a mansion on the beach in Cabo San Lucas.

Okay, now it's your turn. What were all my BFFs up to this weekend?
