Snazzy Pizazz

With holiday parties and events right around the corner, it's time to start jotting down ideas, pinning on Pinterest, scouring magazines, perusing your favorites stores and hopefully getting a little inspiration from this post today.

Bronze Metallic Sweater: Wallis c/o // Shorts: The Limited (similar here and here) // Sequin Belt: NY&Co (similar here and here) // Zara Heels // Victoria Secret Sequin Clutch (similar here and here) // Lilac Bijoux Bow Bangle c/o // The Limited Necklace (similar) // Forever 21 Rhinestone Studs (similar)

They key to looking and feeling fabulous at any event is being comfortable. Keep in mind that you will most likely be standing the majority of the time, engaging in plenty of conversation while holding a plate of delicious treats and possibly a festive cocktail. Hopefully there will be a little dancing involved as well.

You don't want to be tugging on a tight dress, tucking undergarments back into place, sucking in the entire night or showing too much when you bend over...we all know what I am talking about here.

What I put together today is an easy fix for all the "oh, no she didn't" moments I just mentioned. Everything I am wearing are classic pieces, just jazzed up a notch with sparkle, metallic sheen, minimal accessories and a sexy heel.

And when the parties are all said and done, wouldn't it be genius if you could actually wear it all again, maybe just not all together? I am here to remind you that you don't have to go out and buy a dress, skirt or top that you will most likely never wear again. I am all about some snazzy pizazz during this time of year, but I am also a pretty big fan of wearing things more than once. You with me?

Now start planning those sassy little numbers and show me what you come up with!

Shanna

I am in love with this look! I have always wanted to wear shorts with tights but don't' have the right pair. I think a pair I bought this past summer may work. I am all about using your clothes all year round.

So chic! Love the ankle boots and bow bracelet!

That sweater is amazing! There are so many ways you can wear that after Christmas. I bought a sequin skirt from Old Navy but we really don't get invited to parties where we dress up. I guess I will wear it to the grocery store;) Susan

Beautiful outfit! And you're right, you don't need to wear a little black (or sequined) dress to every holiday event there is. This is a perfect balance!

That's so true. It's even worse for me, because my birthday is Dec 19th, so even if I buy a nice dress for a Christmas party, I couldn't really wear it for my bday outfit, because it is a week apart! haha. If it was more separated, then I could probably get away with it! Your idea makes complete sense! AFTER I just bought a Christmas party dress. lol.

Being comfortable is a must for sure. You look so fabulous and chic! I had seen those gorgeous shoes on zara.com and really love them. Your metallic sweater is so beautiful and so is your clutch. Love black tights with shorts, skirts and dresses. They give an elegant touch to an outfit.

I'm a huge fan of shorts with tights, and loving all the metallics! Right now I am desperately scouring for a dress to wear to a winter wedding - I want long, but I'm a petite and I want to not freeze!! Sigh. If you have any thoughts let's see em Shannon!

You look so cute! I am re- thinking a couple of recent purchases for the holidays, you are so right about using things you have or aut least are not too restricting to holiday dressing.

I love wearing sparkle, even more so around the holidays, but it's also true that feeling comfortable is important!

FitTravelerAJ said...

Comfort is KEY! I'm starting to rethink the dress I just got for the holidays...this would be a much better option!

I can totally see you wearing each of these pieces again! That sweater can be paired with jeans and cute boots, the shorts can be paired with a cute top or an oversized sweater.

I love to rewear too!

fleurani said...

I am the same way Shanna, only invest in pieces that are at least 4 times rewearable and that can be combined mutil ways. So in in love with that metallic sweater.

PS: I have written you an email about your link up, did you get it?
