Lots of love going on

Sweater (sold out online) & Denim: Old Navy | White Top: Kohls (old) | Loafers: Charlotte Russe (similar) |
 Bracelets: LovelySWAG & Forever 21 | Rings: Forever 21

Since I am wearing a big ol' heart on my chest today, I figured why not chat a little bit about what I am loving at this very moment.

1. Obsessed with the stackable rings in this post. I ran into Forever 21 for a belt and these little beauties and another set of friends jumped right out at me. Ladies, they have some of the cutest stack sets right now. Most of them all under $7.00. The ones you see above came in a group of eight. Eight rings + $6.80 = No Brainer!

2. We have a wedding this weekend. I haven't been to a wedding allllllll summer. Can you believe that? The last one I went to was in May. The reception is at a winery. Uh-oh!! I am going to do my best to not wake up with a headache Sunday morning. I will keep you posted on that one.

3. The hubs is now 100% owner of his company. He started it with a partner 4 years ago and now we have full ownership. So exciting, but at the same time so scary. I am so proud of you, Ross! Thank you for all you do for our family.

4. I just received new vintage dictionary prints in the mail from the Salvaged Sparrow on etsy. Please look at this shop. How fun and unique is this? It will be part of the gallery wall we are planning in our home office.

5. Okay, this last one might make or break our friendship. I am LOVING the new Taylor Swift single, Begin Again. No, this song has nothing to do with my own life, but I am sure it has something to do with hers. I wonder who this one is about. Yes, people, I am a Taylor Swift fan. Logan and I have seen her twice in concert and she puts on one hell of a show. I don't care what anyone says. And her new album, Red, debuts on October 22nd. And you can bet your sweet boots that I will download it that day. Don't judge. Last week, I talked about P!NK, this week it's Taylor. What can I say, I have a wide range taste in music.

I hope everyone has a great weekend...oh, and another thing I am loving...the fact that a cool front is moving in this weekend. Maybe, just maybe my riding boots can be added to the rotation sooner than later. Fingers crossed!

Giveaway - Who is Jessica Who?

Who the heck is Jessica Who? Well, where do I even begin with this girl? I could gab about her all day long. About how fabulous she is. About her marketing skills. About how much I want to meet her in real life. About how freaking cool she is!

Let's me start by showing you people how gorgeous she is. I mean, look at the skin, that hair, that smile, that outfit. Not fair, right?

Okay, ready to even be more jealous? She lives in Hawaii and she is always posting ahhhh-mazing pictures of the beaches, sunsets and little umbrella drinks on her Instagram. Can you tell I am slightly obsessed envivous? It's okay, you can be too.

What's even better? She has an undying love for football. Even though she is a Steelers fan at heart, she is showing her TRUE roots in this picture...GO TEXANS!!! Yes, Miss Jessica is a from Texas...Houston to be precise. Helllllllo, we probably crossed paths on the freeway when we were kids and made silly faces at each other. And what's up with her hubs jersey? Cowboys? Really? Come on!

And this is her child. Her one and only, Duke. She hasn't talked much about him on the blog, but I think she should. I mean, I bet this little innocent rascal has some stories to tell. What do you think?

I secretly believe Jessica and I were separated at birth...plus a few years (I am an old hag compared to her). Why? Well, because we both suck with the stove and oven, have a slight obsession with fashion and jewelry, are social media junkies and both have a fascination with people...talk to us and we will talk back for hours!!!

Not only does this lady ROCK, her blog is on FIRE too! She has not one, but FOUR giveaways going on at this very moment...here, here, here AND here. Go enter yourself to win some serious loot. But, let me tell you, I already have dibs on one of the prizes!

And because she is so damn cool, she is offering these fabulous color block earrings to one very lucky lady. I hope that I get a surprise pair in the mail soon. Jessica, you reading this?

The Hustle and Bustle

Nope. No outfit/fashion post today. Come back tomorrow. Today is different. Something that hit me. A long, hard hit.

Last night as I was driving home, I had a sky of fire above my head. It was one of the most breathtaking sunsets I have seen in awhile. You see, I live what most call the "city" life. I am surrounded by shopping centers, gas stations, headlights, traffic and highways. I don't have the opportunity to embrace nature, if you will. You know...sunsets like this, crickets chirping, fireflies flying or big bright stars that fill the night's sky.

Because nature's pure, raw beauty seldom crosses my path, I knew I had to pull over and get a shot 15 shots of this view. After I snapped from every angle, I stood there. I stood in the rear of a CVS parking lot, with my car running, with the people hustling and bustling in and out of the store and watched it. I watched it change colors, grow darker and fade back into a typical evening sky.

As I was having my own little, private "moment" with Mother Nature, my oldest, Logan, was in the back seat, yelling, "Mom, can we go?" "Mom, are you ready?" "Mom, please hurry, I want to go home." Yes, I asked her to get out of the car on numerous occasions to take a peak at this view; to get out of the car and watch the sky change shapes, colors and personality. She could care no less or no more about some sunset. I mean, I get it. She is seven years old. I probably didn't give two shits about a sunset at her age either. I remember my dad doing the same thing to me. I can hear him now...his ooohs and ahhs. Maybe as I get older, I am taking after him. Learning to take in "life's moments". Take in the little things that we take for granted every single day. To put a halt to all the hustle and bustle for a few minutes and breathe in the "world" around me. The "real" world. The world that God has given us all.

I think "life" gets the best of us. Most of us are constantly running from one place to another, answering emails/texts from our phones, checking our calendars, figuring out what is next on the day's agenda...to say it frankly, running around like chickens with our heads cut off. Or even worse, living life like robots. Get up, get dressed, go to work, eat dinner, shower, go to bed...repeat. At times...numerous times...I am living like this. Every.single.day. And I feel like I might be teaching my own children these ways of "life". It's just not right.

I totally get it. We are all busy. We all have bills to pay. We all have responsibilities. And of course stress! Life can't be about chasing rainbows and skipping through fields of daisies 100% of the time, BUT, every day, there is an opportunity to embrace life's beauties. I think that is the part we tend to leave out.

So, if you get anything from this ramble today, or if you are even still with me, I just hope that after reading, you will take a few times during your hectic week and be still. Be still long enough to wrap your arms around something that takes your breath away for just one moment. Escape the hustle and bustle and remember what life's precious and beautiful moments truly are.

This post is dedicated to an admirable man who lost his battle with cancer this week. He touched so many lives with his heart, his laughter and his love. Sonny Hildebrand, you will be missed. We will all see you again one day at the gates of Heaven. Rest in peace. You fought hard.

P.S. I will be traveling this afternoon and tomorrow. A dear person in my life lost his battle with cancer and I will be spending time with family celebrating his life. I apologize if I do not respond to comments/emails while I am away.
