Friday Night Lights

gingham and leopard pattern mixing

It wasn't your typical Friday night lights on a field, but more like lights in a store on Friday evening. I tied up my Chucks, put my rally cap on and got mentally prepared.

I am not sure how many of you have a Garden Ridge in your city. It seems like they are few and far between, but they have re-branded to a new name called At Home and are still in the process in some areas. What does that mean? It means the entire store where I live is on sale. It is somewhat of a home decor mecca; pillows, furniture, wall art, patio furniture, rugs, bedding, lamps, storage, kitchen essentials...pretty much a free for all when it comes to accessorizing your home. Ross and the girls where out of town this weekend and I stayed behind for a friend's baby shower festivities. So, what does a wife/mother do when she has no kids or husband? She puts all the seats down in her vehicle, grabs a flatbed dolly and goes to town.

In all honesty, I didn't go too crazy and was kind of disappointed in myself. Only a few things came home with me. I got cold feet and a little overwhelmed by the selection and options. I am taking inventory throughout my house and pretty sure that I will be making another trip or three before it's all said an done.

How is it that I can visualize outfits in my head, but can't for the life of me envision pieces for my house. Aren't the two supposed to go hand in hand?

Cute gingham top! I'm so bad when it comes to home decor... I get really indecisive about things and then end up not buying anything. :P I finally ordered some prints for a gallery wall I want to put up in our family room... we've been living in our house for over four years now so it was LONG overdue! Have a great day!

Home decor is a different ball game, outfits are wayyyy easier. Love the gingham. If you get the chance, please share your amazing post on my link-up today.

The gingham is so cute with the animal print belt! Home decor is so much harder! Do you have pinterest home boards for inspiration? That might help :)

Charles's grandmother is selling her home to move in with his aunt and is basically having an estate sale but is letting the family go through her digs before she puts it on the market. We're trying to be the first ones in there with the hopes of getting first dibs on her suuuuper comfy recliner couches! Our whole apartment is basically made up of hand me down furniture so we're continuing the tradition haha. This comment has nothing to do with Garden Ridge (we don't have one round these parts) but still randomly relevant with regards to acquiring things, right?

Decorating or re-decorating is not an easy thing but I trust that you'll figure it out. In the mean time, I love this casual laid back outfit, nice mix of leopard and gingham print.

I just love this look and I have everything to recreate it. Hello new weekend look! I am getting better at home decor. We move every 4 years which means a new house and that means new decor. We just moved for our last time (hopefully) and I'm in the process of decorating. It does get overwhelming until everything comes together and even then I am "what was I thinking?"

Very cute! I love the details! xx -Danielle

Adorable! Love this easy going look. I used to love to go to Garden Ridge! We don't have one here in Jackson. I have a really hard time with home decor too! It just doesn't one naturally to me, like fashion does.

You are SO stinkin' cute! Do you know that I have just about every color of these check print/gingham print shirts EXCEPT black & white? I love it.

As for the home store...I wish we had one here. We have had three interior designers to our home because I don't have a interior design bone in my body! All three of them out of our budget but we got some good ideas of what to do with some of the empty spaces in our home. So now I just need to do a little shopping! =)

This made me laugh but I like it! I still miss Friday Night Lights. :) I have all these pieces but would not have put them together so thank you!!!

I am the same way. I can put looks together but we've been redoing our house and its a bit torturous for me. I find One Kings Lane is good for ideas.
