The Aztec Print

Amy from Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins and I are teaming up today to show you ladies one of our favorite trends, the Aztec print.

GET THE LOOK:
c/o Kiki La'Rue Dress (exact) // Charlotte Russe Boots (option) (option) // Sam Moon Clutch (option) (option) // Target Necklace (option) // KO Jewelry Necklace (exact) // Stella & Dot Bracelet (here) // Forever 21 Sunglasses (option) (option)

I was one happy gal when they started making a comeback this year. I have always had a special place in my heart for this look and pattern. If you have been reading my blog for a bit you know that I don't have one particular style or look. I guess you could call it having multiple personalities when it comes to my style, but one thing is for sure, I definitely gravitate to a boho vibe. To me it looks effortless, carefree and girly at the same time.

If the whole boho look isn't your cup of tea, let's take it in another direction. In my opinion, Aztec inspired designs are right up there with florals, polka dots and stripes. What I mean by that is that they can become a staple pattern in your closet. You can easily mix them up for day or night. Add some feminine accessories for a softer look. Incorporate leather pieces for some edge. Pull on a pair of distressed denim for a laid back style. Are you getting my drift? It doesn't just have to be free spirited style. It's one that fits into numerous wardrobe equations. The best part? This is a print can be worn all season.

I found a few of my favorite Aztec designs and pieces that are all under $35. Take a look and tell me what you think? Are you a fan or still on the fence? If you still aren't sure, start slow by purchasing an accessory. I bet you will be on board in no time.

Okay, enough about fashion, let's talk funny and world travels. Today I want to introduce you to Helene with Helene in Between. For most of you this will be no introduction, it's probably more like, oh, hi, Helene, you are great!

Gorgeous, right? Like a pretty, pretty princess?

Hilarious, right? Like a kissy, kissy face queen.

You guys, she is the real deal and she is from TEXAS! So, you know I loved her from the get go. We have been reading each others blogs for almost a year. We could not be more different, but for some reason we click. She likes music that I have never heard of. I stick to country and Top 40 (boring, I know). She is a world traveler and just got back from Tomorrowland. I just wrapped up a staycation in Austin. She naturally has great hair and beachy waves. Me, well, my hair doesn't do anything. One thing we do have in common is our love to dance like nobody is watching, but I don't have her signature move nailed down just yet. Teach me your ways, Helene.

They thing I love most about Helene, is that you REALLY feel as though you know EXACTLY who she is just by reading her blog and looking through her crazy adventures. Her name is definitely in Webster's Dictionary next to the "spirited" definition. She will keep you laughing, reading and coming back for more. If you haven't stopped by before, you are missing out. Go now to Helene in Between.

Oh, I almost forgot, Helene and I have something else in common, we like Sephora. I mean, we are girls and all. I am sure you have the same thing in common with us too. That's why she is so thoughtful enough to giveaway a $20 gift card to Sephora. Hip-hip-hooray!

You look amazing, Shanna! I agree, the Aztec inspired prints can be dressed up or town. I don't think it has to be strictly boho!

I've been checking some aztec stuff out. I think I'd be better off with a scarf or something, it would be more "me" than an all over print.

Love you AND Helene! Have a great day!

I love how modern that Aztec print is! Sometimes I think Aztec print can look a little 80's (not that that is bad, I just also like to have modern options!)!

There are so many girls that look cute in the Aztec pattern. I bought a dress online that had the pattern and I was not a fan of it on me. Maybe it was the fit of the dress, but it just wasn't cute.

Love the black dress on you. REALLY cute!!

Cool dress. I am very much a boho chic girl, but do agree that you can create other styles through the Aztec prints. Also, a pair of killer heels would really dress up the outfit.
