Neutral Grounds

WHAT I AM WEARING:
Old Navy Raglan (here) // Old Navy Denim (here) // Forever 21 Wedges (here) // Target Bag (similar) (similar) // Lookbook Store Necklace c/o (here) // H&M Glasses (similar) // T+J Designs Watch c/o (here) // Bracelets: Wallis c/o (here), Laura and Lily (here), Sophistifunk c/o (here) // Forever 21 Earrings (here) // Nails: OPI You Don't Know Jacques (here)

I am usually a color person. Bright and bold tones are what I am typically drawn to most of the time. When I saw this metallic raglan at Old Navy I knew exactly how I wanted to style it; simple and on neutral grounds. The "K.I.S.S." acronym of Keep It Simple Sister popped in my brain when it pulled together this style. Sometimes less is more, meaning accessories, patterns and colors.

Each piece is basic, versatile, timeless and effortless. Most importantly I was super comfortable wearing it all day and still felt put together.

I think this top will be showing up on the regular over the next few months; with a jacket, vest, layered over an oxford top or dressed up with a leather pencil skirt. The possibilities are endless with this one and that's why it came home with me. These days, it's all about shopping smarter in my house.

In other other, non-related news, today is our last day of summer break. I am not counting the weekend. School starts on Monday. How did this happen? My girls found out their who their teachers are last night at the annual "Welcome Walk" and this afternoon we will head up to their school and  drop off supplies. Life as we've known it for the last three months is officially over. I am not sure how any of us will adjust to early bedtimes and 5:45 AM wake up calls. Sorry in advance if none of my posts make a lick of sense next week. I fully intend to blame it all on shifting back into a gear that has been dead and gone since early June. Bear with me.

Happy weekend. I am off to soak up every last morsel before the bell rings.

Shanna

Love this outift! That raglan tee is so cute with that statement necklace. My girls don't start kindergarten for another week... thank goodness because I'm still not sure how I'm going to peel them out of their beds in the morning! :P

I am all about the baseball tee right now and love that this one has a little shine to it to make it special. I know what you mean about school starting back up - I can't believe both my kids will be gone all day...sniff sniff :(

BTW, I freaking love this look. It is my fave of the week! I just bought new aviators from F21 so I think I need the rest of this look to complete them. Ha.

You look so good in this! I agree with simplicity most of the time, it just fits into everyday life and works, you know? I have another week before school and I am looking forward to getting into a routine again, but getting up and out of the house early? No bueno. Happy weekend!

really cute outfit. I'm more of a neutral kind of girl so this is right up my alley.

I am obsessing over that purse. I was totally bummed when I went to the links you listed and it wasn't the exact purse.

OMG you are absolutely ROCKING that top...and I can't believe - and I'm SO excited - it's from Old Navy (because that means I can get one too!) I love all your looks, but there is something about a nice, neutral look that I am drawn too. Plus your statement necklace makes it just fancy enough. :)
