Nine Leopard Shoes on the Shelf

Only a select few have seen my closet. I can count on one hand the people that have witnessed the real life nightmare of walking into complete chaos. It's a disgrace and I have taken full responsibility and matters into my own hands. No, I haven't hired The Container Store to come in do an elfa redesign, even though it would be a life long dream come true. I did however, do some major purging on New Year's Day. I was a machine.

Banana Republic Gold Sweater // Forever 21 Plaid Top // Express Pencil Skirt (option here and here) // Sam & Libby Boots at Target // Mossimo Faux Leather Jacket at Target (option here and here) // Forever 21 Bag (option here and here) // Kendra Scott Tassel Necklace //  Micheal Kors Watch c/o The Jeweler's Wife // Forever 21 Sunglasses

For three hours straight I made donation and resale store piles, then listed more than two dozen items on Poshmark. Hallelujah! I can now walk into my closet and actually stand and move around without tripping over a shoe, bag, hanger or piece of clothing that I thought I had lost months ago.

The funny part of the story comes now. I warned Ross that he needed to make a palette on the living room floor and fall asleep watching football. There was no reason he needed to be subjected to what was going down in the closet, bathroom and bedroom. It was that horrific. But as we all know, men sometimes do not listen to us women. So, being the curious man he is, came into my workspace. The pile of shoes immediately caught his eye. He started counting pairs of shoes and I tried to explain that half of them were finding new homes soon. During his mathematical adventure, he counted not two, not four, not six, but nine pairs of leopard shoes. No way. Yes, way.

In my defense to him, I explained how leopard is the new neutral and that I was about to only have seven pairs, not nine. One went to Goodwill and the other is on Poshmark. To plead my case further, they all have different shades, patterns, heels heights and the ones I am wearing today are boots...my one and only pair of leopard booties. Thank you very much.

Great job on having head start on cleaning out your closet.

I started to sort through a giant pile of clothes in our spare bedroom and my hubby had a heart attack with all the clothes and saying it's impossible to fit it all into the closets. (he is probably right).

BTW - love this outfit and you can Ross that a woman can never have too many pair of leopard shoes :)

I love leopard shoes! They're the perfect way to dress up an otherwise bland outfit (for me anyways). Awesome job with all the layering by the way, wish I was that good.

Love it! Purging your closet- while hard to decide what to keep of give- is so refreshing! Leopard totally is the new neutral & now I can fully believe that because you said it ;) LOVE those booties, too!

Leopard shoes are where it's at! Actually, leopard anything. I just received a pair of leopard ankle strap heels for Christmas and I cannot wait to wear them!

I am so glad it is not just me whose closet is a mess! I purged a little bit a few months ago, but that doesn't keep it all from going back to chaos. My husband hates it!

Well, I have 4 myself (two heels two flats) and in pursuit of more! You can never have too many and the mens will never understand.

I may need to do a closet purge soon - but, honestly I can't part with a lot of my items that I don't wear often so that means I should keep them for now, right? right.

Off the top of my head, I have six. Two flats, two heels, two booties (including the ones you're wearing...aren't they great?!?!). And they are all justified! :)

Hahaha! My husband does the same thing to me with my makeup collection. He doesn't understand the need for 10 very SIMILAR shades of pink lipstick. Maybe a closet tour someday?

Hahaha. Even though my husband obviously sees my closet everyday I'd hate to have him walk in while everything was spread out. I'm pretty sure he'd be in shock!

Haha! I love it. I'm about to embark on a purge and organize session in my closet.

I don't do plaid very often but I like just the hint of plaid peeking out in your outfit (and of course the faux leather, sparkly sweater and leopard booties).

I did the exact same thing, and am only considering it round one, because I still somehow have way too many clothes! I just get to attached to certain pieces, and definitely have trouble getting rid of things, even if I may not have worn them in a few years. It's bad, I know. But! Round two of the closet clean-out commences tonight! Wish me luck! Also, with the leopard shoes- that is hilarious!

Preaching to the choir! I envy your ability to purge...I hate letting go of things that I don't even wear. I usually make myself every so often, but it is not a good feeling!!

My closet is a mess too. Actually I have 2 closets that are both small. I wish I had an adequate space for my clothing, shoes, etc. My husband is always amazed by the amount of shoes I have but men just don't understand that they are each different! Also, love this outfit and those leopard booties!

Nine pairs of leopard shoes?! Holy poo, woman! Thank goodness you only have seven now. Nine seemed a bit much ;) I do the same thing though - different styles, heel heights - we girls need options! Hope cleaning out your closet was refreshing! And your outfit is adorable - I think those leopard booties real make the outfit :)

I've been cleaning out mine too. It has gotten ridiculous. I think the problem is that my closet is too small lol. I have that same necklace and it is my favorite. Love the plaid and gold.

I am so glad I'm not the only person obsessed with Leopard print shoes. My husband just doesn't get it. Now granted I don't have 9 pairs but to him my 3 might as well be 30. You always look stunning pretty lady.

Funny story, I called my cheetah shoes leopard for like 2 years. I then once showed them on the blog and someone was kind enough to email me and explain to me they were actually leopard. Ever since then I have kind of toned down my love of animal print because well, I am afraid of calling it by the wrong name. Anyway, that is a a weird story that just came out. Friday night ramblings!

Girl, defend your leopard to the end! Guys will NEVER understand women's fashion. And yes, all of those are totally necessary :-) Love the shimmer with the plaid today!

I have 16 pairs of boots, and find myself consistently trying on a pair EVERYTIME I go out....

It is a problem, but like you said, they are ALL different...in their own way.

I completely see your point! (is that bad?) I am the same way about black booties. In fact, I've had to stop myself from buying two more pairs in the past month. They all look different!!

Men....they just don't understand! My hubby just recently watched me go through all of my drawers and try to get rid of things. I have this habit of going through them and finding things I didn't know I had and then SWEARING I will wear it now that I know it's there! Hahaha.....we'll see how well that works...
