Totally Typical

I missed The Day After Christmas shopping extravaganza because we were still celebrating at my parents' house. I don't think my family would have approved of me ducking out of our gift exchange and lunch to go shopping. So, I had to drum up every ounce of patience and wait until Friday to venture out to the stores. Surprisingly I only bought thing. I know, completely out of character.

Every place we walked into was either emptied out or in such shambles that I couldn't bare to rummage through what they did have left. The sole winner was this Banana Republic metallic gold pullover that was an additional 40% off the sale price.

The rest of everything you see above are either gifts from Ross or the damage I did online Friday and Saturday night. I know it looks like I went a teeny bit overboard with the spending, but in my defense, most were on super sale and I used gift cards for 80% off it.

I don't know about you guys, but I think online shopping is the way to go. I used to get a high from hitting the mall after Christmas and any other day of the week, but lately, it makes me crazy...the crowds, people, messes, digging, more digging and the stores not being stocked with merchandise like they have online. It was actually therapeutic sitting in my PJs for a few several hours to shop, browse and add things to next year's Christmas list. I believe I may have switched over from the dark side to a much happier place called checking out with the mouse. Done and done.

In case you are wondering why this post is titled "Totally Typical", it's because I know you guys didn't expect anything other than seeing me add more stripes, dots, plaid and leopard to my closet. I need to try being a bit more unpredictable. I don't want to start boring anyone around here.

I have not gone to shopping after Christmas sales for sometime because of the crowds and the messiness of the stores. I did go a bit overboard ordering from BR and Ann Taylor tonight with their 60% off sale. I figure I will just order it and try it on at home.

Based on all the good deals I've found the past two weeks, I'm going to have to ban myself from shopping for three months! YIKES. Anyway, I really love the gold sweater and those red boots with the exposed zipper? 100% awesome.

Oh my goodness, these picks are fabulous! I did not shop after Christmas either. Amazingly, I am a bit shopped out. I need a break. But I am wishing I would have bought something sparkly for NYE! Have a great week! Susan

I went out the day after Christmas and bought a ton of great stuff (also used lots of giftcards)...I don't know, there's something about sense of accomplishment I feel whenever I spend time rummaging and finally come up with an item to treasure, I don't think I'll over switch to online shopping preference! Bargain hunting is such a sport for me!! Except for shoes, shoes I buy online because of the greater selection :) Check out my post today for a looksie at some of my finds!

LOVE those boots! I actually tried them on in store but the only size they had left were just a little too big on me - boo! :( Love everything you bought & will be sharing my purchases later this week too!

I just went to Target this weekend since I had some gift cards. A lot of the clothing section was picked over but I did manage to score a cute jacket on the clearance rack. I love online shopping too but I often wind up returning those purchases since you can't try them on :(

Love all these! I did a little damage after Christmas, too. Mostly online. Still waiting to receive my purchases, so we'll see how much I actually keep. :)

Ha! I totally did this! I found a great deal on a red cashmere sweater online and picked up a few things I had been eyeing in other stores too- all online the day after Christmas. It was so much more relaxing too. Then I hit up actual Target and felt glazed over. I bought cough drops and thank you notecards. That is all.

I used to love going to the mall, too, but online has become my go-to! Looks like you got a lot of great deals!

I agree 1000% about online shopping, I love to browse and unless it is a weekday or a non holiday the stores just drive me CRAZY. Loving all your goods, that polka dot sweatshirt is amazing:) Happy New year, friend:)

I agree with you about online shopping. I actually am beginning to prefer it. If you are familiar with how certain brands fit your body, you can shop online and feel confident that everything will fit. I especially love online shopping for shoes. Very cute picks and I just purchased those animal print booties and LOVE THEM!
