The Ties That Bind

GET THE LOOK:
c/o Wallis Dress (exact) // Forever 21 Top (option) (option) // Old Navy Flats (option) (option) // Target Clutch (option) (option) // Kendra Scott Earrings (exact) // Forever 21 Sunglasses (option) (option) // Lip Color Maybelline Fuchsia Flash

It's Friday!!! Hallelujah! I'll tell you, the first week of no school just about put me into crazy mode. Trying to stay on top of blogging and my commitments while keeping my girls occupied has been quite the task. How many more days until school starts? Kidding...sort of.

Anyway, as you may or may not know I was awarded the ultimate privilege to be the 2013 Wallis U.S. Blogger Ambassador. Part of this amazing experience is getting to style different pieces from their brand, like this polka dot maxi dress.

Every month Wallis will be featuring a 'this month we'll be wearing' campaign where they pick the top 10 must have products for that month to help you with adding to your wardrobe.

Wallis knows we are busy ladies and short on time so they want to make it easier for all of us. They have taken the initiative to pick out versatile items that you can dress up or down and wear on numerous occasions.

And this maxi dress is one of them. I chose to layer a simple white oxford over this dress and also knot the bottom of it so that my flats wouldn't be hidden under the length. Knotting pieces such as tops, maxi dresses or skirts is a fun way to add a twist and create a fresh look to items that you already own.

What ties have you binded lately? This seems to have become quite the trend; one that can help extend all of our wardrobes. It's kind of fun, right?

*********************************************
Speaking of ties that bind, I have a few ladies that I have bonded with and wanted to share with your their blogs and shop. This is a new feature I will be doing for my sponsors in lieu of the monthly group giveaways. They are definitely worth the click and I bet you make three new friends.

Rachel with Life Unsweetened is a true jewel. Her blog is such a great mix of fashion, beauty, lifeisms and her personal life. She is one of my daily reads. Rachel is one of those bloggers who truly writes and posts to help her readers gain knowledge about a subject matter. She is a copywriter by day, so this lady has a way with words. I promise, her blog provides fun topics we can all relate to as women...she surely 'sweetens' my blog life. Make sure to check her out.
Castellammare Designs Etsy Shop....oh my goodness. Their jewelry designs are so simple, romantic and classic. Looking for a gift for yourself or a friend? You have to visit their shop. Right now they have a Gatsby Collection that is killer and of course right in time for the movie phenomenon. And we all know it's wedding season? Are you in a wedding or planning your own? Castellmmare Designs has a entire section of wedding appropriate pieces that will send you into full swoon mode.

Okay, Maira-Isabel from Agape Love stole my heart from the get go. Why? No, not because she is naturally radiant, but because she is a wife, mom to three GORGEOUS children and strong in her faith. We have so much in common, right? I want to be her new BFF. She chats about fashion, her weight loss journey and photography, plus a hundred other things. This girl is the total blogging package. She is one of those rare finds that can relate to every single woman on the planet. Add her to your daily reads now.

Go make some new friends, do a little shopping and have some fun over the weekend. I'll see your pretty faces on Monday. I am off for a weekend getaway with Mr. Ross sans my "Mini Me" and "Sparkle Monkey".

I love this look! I'm a big fan of black and white. When I was trying to find a great maxi for the summer, I fell in love with a similar polka dot one but couldn't make the length work and ended up with a great floral one instead.

I followed the Wallis link to check out the dress and noticed that the items I checked out don't come smaller than a size 4. This 0-2 lady can't wear any of their cute stuff :(

I have wanted a maxi dress/skirt for years but because my genes made me a giant (or at least what it feels like when I'm looking for a maxi dress), I have yet to find one. I"m sure if I ever do I still won't be cool enough to tie it, but either way, color me jelly.
