Lately, the weather has been gloomy, chilly and full of rain. Hopefully, heavy sweater weather is over for awhile, but lighter jackets and denim are still a must here in Austin.
A basic utility jacket and vest have both been closet heroes for the past few years. They are great for layering and adding dimension to simple styles, especially when you find one that combines your two favorite prints; plaid and polka dots. All is well in the world.
If you are looking for a light weight utility jacket with a little kick, this one from SheInside is too fun to pass up...especially for the price. It added the perfect pinch of spice to a plain white t-shirt and distressed pair of denim...comfy, casual and sure to make an unexpected statement.

In non-clothes news, we officially added a new member to our family. Meet Mr. Bandit Beau. He is an 8 month old GSP...just like our Gus Wilbur. Yesterday was quite the adventure with the two getting acquainted. I was so proud of Gus and how well he welcomed his new brother home. The bad part is that we are building a new patio in our backyard and with all the rain it's a HUGE mud hole...so both dogs are covered in dirt and are the perfect cliche of a wet dog. I am trying to breathe and take it all in strides. Getting Gus over a year ago was a HUGE step for me...adding another one has been a ginormous LEAP.
