The Weekender

Mondays haven't ever bothered me. I see them as a fresh start and a way to get back in the saddle of routines, schedules and normalcy. Today, I am going against my norm. To say I am bummed that our last two days are in the past, is an understatement. For the first time in weeks, we had zero scheduled plans or obligations. Instead of staying on a schedule, we made our own adventurous plans. Saturday was just too beautiful to stay inside and tend to normal weekend chores. After Logan's volleyball game, we packed up the Jeep and headed to Lady Bird Lake for a few hours of fun in the sun on tandem kayaks. We rang in the evening with a town gathering for a friend's victory on city council. Sunday was a repeat of Saturday, more family time in the sun with a late brunch, trampoline jumping sessions and sunset swim at the pool.

Maybe it was because of the weather, the spontaneous trips or not having anywhere to be at a specific time, but most likely it had to do with the company that I held. As a mom., there are days where I want to throw my hands in the air, curl up in a fetal position and cry for hours. But then, days come along like the last two and all the hell on wheels moments are worth it. If you are a mom, I hope the hectic and crazy ways settled and that you enjoyed a weekend of fun with your family.

Wallis Lace Cami c/o (almost exact) // H&M Midi Skirt (option here and here) // Old Navy Sandals // Forever 21 Crossbody (option here and here) // Gojana Grifffin Ring c/o // Lilac Bijoux Bracelets c/o // Forever 21 Sunglasses (option here)// Monogram Initial Necklace (option here and here) // XO Necklace (option here)

I bought this skirt from H&M a month or so ago and wanted to be sure I got my fair share of wear out of it. I originally wore it here, but this time I put a casual spin to it. It was laid back, but dressy enough for Sunday brunch; at least for Austin standards.

I hope you made the most of your weekend. We really need to embrace our "down" time more often. I can't wipe the weekend smile off my face.

Shanna

I totally agree! Our Saturdays can be really full this time of year with soccer season and three girls playing, plus my husband coaching. Mix in anything else and we are set to implode. Mother's day was a blissful break from that. I wrote about how laid back it was too.
