Fringe with Benefits

We are constantly inundated with new trends, staying current with the next big thing, keeping up with what magazines suggest we purchase. It can be mind numbing, bank account draining and at times make us feel as though we are chasing after things that won't be around for the long haul.

I am guilty of all of the above. I like to stay current, try new styles, experiment with my wardrobe, but I try to be smart about it. I look for affordable pieces that won't leave me feeling guilty once the fast fashion hits the highway.

At the same time, there are trends that are not actually trends at all. They come back around time and time again. Take for instance, fringe. The loose thread design has been around off and on for years. It seems to be popping back up by popular demand. I have seen countless items featured in the latest style magazines, especially bags. The bonus to adding this classic thread into your closet is that it can radiate a boho vibe for summer festivals, add a hint of sexiness for an evening out or reel you in for a day at the beach. See, fringe definitely has it's benefits.

Below are a few other fringe pieces that have caught my eye as of late.

I love all the items above specially the kimono, but for some reason I don't think I never had anything with fringe.

OK I love the title. And fringe isn't so bad either. :)

I am obsessed with fringe anything and tend to gravitate towards it in the store! I need those sandals and that bag with a passion;)

I think I'll be dipping my toe in this trend - I've been eyeing a fringe bag at H&M that I just might pull the trigger on! Love your picks here too :)

I am a huge fan of fringe! I'm wearing a pair of fringe boots today actually! I did a closet clean out this past weekend and came across them again. They definitely do come back around every so often so i'm glad I have them.

This makes my heart sing - all of it is so amazing. I love fringe and I love that it can look western, native american, and just hippie all at once.

A true test that it never goes truly out of style - is that I still have my mother's suede fringe vest she wore in the 60's and 70's - if ONLY I could fit in it. She was super tiny. I keep it as a reminder of evolving style.

I have to be careful with this trend. My cat thinks I'm a walking toy if I wear certain fringe. Ha!

Loving fringed details at the moment, favourite has to be slight fringing to kimonos.

I love the way you talked about trends lady - and have to totally agree that boho/fringe is certainly one that comes back in regular intervals. Dreaming of adding a fringe purse to my collection, but being stubborn and hoping that I can find a vintage one!!
