A Little Place Called My Life

It's that time again, a glimpse into a little place called my life. And of course all photos have been documented with the genius, crack rock app, Instagram. If you are addicted as much as I am, come over and see me @becauseshannasaidso

My weekend was probably the most low key three days I have encountered in months and it was nothing short of amazing! I got so much stuff done around the house, ate like a queen, shopped for new home decor, took in some 3-D action, watched a monsoon hit my house and best of all spent it with Ross and my little chicken nuggets, Logan and Landry.

Paitently waiting for the Katy Perry movie to start.
No better way to kill some time than to pose for pictures in 3D glasses.
If you are a fan, I would definitely suggest seeing it.
Landry on the other hand asked me half way through when the movie was going to start.
I guess she thought it was going to be Katy Perry Disney.

I let the girls have a slumber party Friday night.
When I went in to check on them, this is how I found Landry...
A baby bib, glasses, tiger ears and a bumble bee antenna.
Let me just add that it was almost 1:00 AM.
Yes, my girls like to have a good time.
No, I normally do not let them stay up that late.

New kitchen mat I scooped up at Garden Ridge.
We are way overdue in the home decor department.
New rugs and mats are first on my agenda.

I told you rugs were on my brain.
We found this one at Lowe's.
I was on the fence at first, but ended up going back to get it.
Now, I need new accent pillows for my furniture..
It's like a snow ball effect...one purchase always leads to another.

Just a typical Sunday lunch after church.
I think I might start keeping sliced oranges handy around my house.
These sure kept them quite for a hot minute.

Accent pillow mission.
Some of you may think that this is Heaven, but for me it is HELL.
I seriously suck at picking stuff out for my house.
I am super indecisive and I can't try anything on like I can clothes.
No lie, I made FOUR trips to Garden Ridge this weekend.
After it was all said and done, I still don't have new pillows.
I will be back again tomorrow for Round 5.

This is how we spent our Sunday evening, checking The Weather Channel every 5 minutes.
I am fully aware that we need the rain.
It makes things green and grow, it fills up the lake, but never seems to come in moderation.
I swear, when it rains here in Texas, it floods.
My backyard is now underwater.
The mosquitoes are going to come out with a vengeance.
Over it.

So, how did you spend you weekend?
See any good movies? Do any shopping? Stuff an orange in your grill? Watch the rain fall?

Don't get stressed over home decor. Find a couple schemes you like. Accessories are fairly easy because nothing is permanent and you can always return what doesn't work. Sometimes you can't see what will work unti it's in the space. For Round 5 grab a couple different pillows that coordinate in color. Go for different textures. Again, I'm not expert. Just a few things I've learned from boss lady. Have a great week lovely!

Haha, I love the photos of the girls in their 3-D glasses! We had some crazy thunderstorms last night too. Of course it started right when I was trying to go to bed. It took me forever to fall asleep with all that thundering and lightning!

Love that one of my blogger faves, Taylor, just became your 500th. Congrats.

And I must be an idiot because I have no freaking clue how to read those doppler images. Maybe that's why I'm a marketing/communications professional. So I can communicate via words instead of scientific graphs and renderings.

Have a great week. Thanks for linking up!

Ohh that doppler! SOmeone in our house becomes obsessed with the doppler come winter...someone who like to spend time on the tennis court...a lot of time on the tennis court. We pretty much see NO rain here in SoCal in the summer but have had many a day in the winter where our backyard looked like that. YUCK! Best you stay inside until it all drains! You can shop for pillows online on etsy! You can easily search by color and print so you won't feel so overwhelmed. Happy Monday! xo

I just die over your sweet kiddos! Too funny how you call them chicken nuggets because when I used to work in the juniors department at Nords, my coworkers and I always referred to the young girls that came in as chicken nuggets. It always made us laugh so hard! Thanks for linking up pretty lady :)

Hopefully the flooding stays in your backyard and doesn't get into the house! I'm personally loving the rain! (I live in Austin.) Sounds like you've had a great weekend! Hope your week is even better. :)

I love the new kitchen mat! So fun! And that photo of Landry...amazing! I know how you feel about home decor. It's really trial and error for me. I can't tell you how many things I buy and then return. So you are not alone! But I promise once you find something that works...it will be worth all the trips!

Your kids are awesome... I wish I lived in ATX so I could babysit them!! FW got a little rain yesterday FINALLY. Houston has been hogging it all... glad ATX got a little. The lake needs it I'm sure!! Looks like you had a glorious weekend & Garden Ridge looks like they have a sh*t ton of pillows! May have to run by as for I still don't have couch throw pillows after almost 2 months living in my new apartment... yikes! xoxo

I am terrible at shopping for home decor. I just don't even bother anymore. It isn't the same as shopping for clothes. I am right there with you!

Can I babysit these beauties? I will teach them all kinds of delicious things. New language, hooker like makeup, a new kind of sign language, spikes and leather. I mean the fun times are endless.
