No Oompa Loompa Here!

Not only is the weekend upon us, but it is going to be a beauti-mous one here in Austin!  Spring has definitely arrived!  Bring on the shorts, sleeveless tops, sandals and possibly SWIMSUITS....swimsuits?  Yes, I said swimsuits!  YIKES!!!!  I know, I am FREAKING OUT too!  I am as white as a ghost, and when I say white, I mean so white that my veins look like bruises on my legs...attractive, I know!

Well, don't fret my lovelies, I have the cure for our winter white bodies...are you ready?  Of course you are.  It's called Xen Tan!

I would prefer to call it A Gift from Sweet Baby Jesus.  Okay, maybe I am being a little outrageous, but seriously, this self tanner is by far the BEST one I have ever used...and believe me, I have purchased plenty!

Xen Tan has several product lines. I use the Transform Luxe Daily Self-Tan in Light/Medium.  It does not give you instant color.  It is gradual.  The best part...okay, there are two best parts...it does not leave you looking like a big, orange Oompa Loompa and it actually smells good...think vanilla.  Oh, I fogot another best part...it is only $30!  I got mine at Ulta, but you can also get it online here and at Sephora.

I always apply mine at night and I wake up to a fresh, non-stinky glow.  Also, I must add that it fades nicely and doesn't leave you splotchy.

Check out a before and after picture...CAUTION...you might need to put on your sunglasses for the first picture...don't say I didn't warn you!  It looks like I am wearing white pantyhose...HOT!

BEFORE
{never did this outfit post because of how white my legs were}

AFTER
{subtle, right...not too over the top tan?}

I know there are several other, Non-Oompa Loompa looking, self-tanners out there.  St. Tropez and Fake Bake have gotten amazing reviews as well.  I just found this one to be my favorite one so far!

Do you have a favorite self-tanner or a funny self tanner experience?  I am willing to bet my bank account that anyone that has used one before has a funny, OMG I turned orange story!!  Mine was with the Sublime Loreal one...I was a HOT MESS!!

Cheers to getting our tan on!!

Your legs do NOT look white in that first pic!! (Have you SEEN me?? haha).

It's good to know there are some non-Oompa tanners out there, although as a freckled redhead I would definitely look odd if I tried to use that stuff.

That self tanner did such a good job! I always get nervous about becoming orange and therefore get too scared to use them... this one is on my list next to try!

You look adorable as usual :) I Just tried Mystic Tan for the first time last night for my birthday, and I like it so far, but a gradual tanner would probably be better for everyday and not special occasions. Hope you're doing well, girl!

I love your two outfits here and you look so tan! I seriously need to try this. I'm so pale right now but every self-tanner I've used smells horrible and leaves me splotchy!

Have a great weekend girl!

Your fake tan looks so natural! Looking hot, girl! Applying self tanner usually drives me crazy and I'd much rather get an airbrush tan (too bad they're $25 a pop and last like 5 days). I'm just glad I live at the beach and I can hopefully get a natural tan soon! Enjoy your weekend, Shanna!

Thank you soooo much for sharing. The unexpected warm weather in Maryland has me freaking out because I'm so pale and people are walking around in shorts and tank tops. :( I haven't found a self tanner that I love so I will totally be trying this like, today! Outfits are adorable as usual. Love that minty green dress!

OMG I will def be trying this! I have tried Ulta brand, L'oreal - but they all have that gross dirt smell! I'm trying on wedding dresses and having an engagement party next month and need my tan!

Your legs don't look white in the first picture but I love how the result in the second picture looked like. Amazing!
I hate self tanners but I know I need them, because I don't want to look like a vampire, nor be sunburned all the time!

L'Oreal Sublime Glow is PERFECTION as well and it's only $11 at Ulta! I've been streaked orange by way too many products in the past, but this one is subtle and shows up gradually, but it actually showed up much faster than I thought. It's not smelly either! I've done the spray tan at palm beach and this is almost better! Good bye fake bake and super expensive car wash tan! :)

That first outfit is adorbs!!! Love it and I NEED that self tanner ASAP. I love how subtle it is. I used to love going to the tanning bed, but now that I'm a little bit older and def more mature, I realize how bad it is for you. Self tanner for me! THanks for sharing. Enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend!!!

Oh my gosh.... it looks SO NATURAL! I am so thankful you posted this that I could KISS you right now. It's a good thing you live far away from me ;)
We're going to Hawaii in May and I've been wondering how to get rid of my pasty white without hitting the tanning beds! I'll definitely be buying this!

So I went out and bought this product - used my Ulta coupon for $3.50 off - so far I really like it! I'm only on application #2 and I'm looking like I have a healthy glow... but the most important thing is there's NO STINKY SMELL!

I asked my fiancé to smell my body lotion (not telling him what it was because he usually wont come near me when i have self tanner on) and he said it smelled nice.

Then last night - I applied it for the second day in a row and forgot i had put it on - i kept smelling something yummy and told my fiancé I smell a cake baking or something - and realized it was ME!

The packaging says you can use it on your face but I'm a little hesitant since it has shea butter and everything makes me break out!

Thanks again for the tip Shanna!

Shanna,
I just have to tell you, that I purchased Xen-Tan from Ulta this weekend based on your review. I LOVE it so far! Like with all self tanners, you have to be careful when you apply it to certain areas (ankles, wrists, etc.), but the color is great and it doesn’t smell nearly as bad as other self tanners I’ve tried. Just wanted to say thanks for the recommendation, and was wondering how often you apply it? Also, did you ever mix it with lotion so it can moisturize/smell better as well? Just a thought.
Thanks again!
