California Adventures

I am well aware that our vacation to Southern California ended two days ago, but I am still on a high from it. Okay, maybe I am not so high and having major withdraws from the temps, blue water, sunny skies, free-spirited days, Mickey Mouse, good friends and of course the sandy beaches.

I had a style post ready to go for today, but my gut was nudging me to put a few photo collages together. Not only do I want to look back on this post, I want my kids to see it years from now. I want us all to go back to August 2014, laugh, tell stories of the memories we made and to remember that these days are ones to cherish for the rest of our lives. It was hard choosing the best of the best because every single photo we took tells a story of our adventures. Between our phones and camera we have over 600 photos from our five days in paradise. These are the ones that make me smile most.

If you have the chance to visit Southern California, I highly recommend it. We are looking forward to the day we can go back.

If you have any questions about where we stayed or visited, please feel free to leave a comment or send me an email. I would love to share more about our stay and offer up any traveling advice you might be interested in.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! See you Monday!

Off-the-Shoulder

We are headed back to Texas today. My heart is a little broken that our California vacation has come to end. We spent most of our days on the beach (we visited seven in five days) relaxing and soaking in the sun with our good friends. We couldn't have asked for better weather. Monday we spent 13.5 hours at Disney and California Adventures and closed the parks down. My friend had her pedometer with her and we ended up walking 15 miles, 35,000+ steps and burned over 3,000 calories. Let's just say that I am still hurting today and could barley walk Tuesday morning. It was worth every single ache and pain. Thank you Sharon, Tommy and your three precious boys for all your hospitality. California would not have been the same without your generosity and crazy memories we made along the way. And thank you Audrey, Tiffany and my blogging soul sister, Jenn for meeting up with us during our stay. Getting to see my blogging buds was icing on the cake. Unfortunately, we are now back to reality and in full back to school mode. How did this happen?

I wore this off-the-shoulder top and white cut off shorts during our last day in San Diego. The top was another Marshall's last minute find before we left. The $14.99 price tag couldn't be avoided. It can be worn on top of the shoulders too and still looks cute. This will be great way to wear it when the summer months have ended. I loved the pattern and lightweight material and hoping to add another one to my closet soon. Below are a few I have my eyes on.

Pretty Palms

Hello from California! These pictures were taken at the Del Coronado Hotel where we stayed for a night. Let me tell you, we spent every single second taking in all this adorable beach town had to offer. I wore this palm printed jumpsuit Friday night for dinner in downtown San Diego. Funny story, our good friends from Austin were actually vacationing here at the same time. Of course we had to make arrangements to meet up with them and swap California stories. Small world, right?

SHOP MORE PRINTED JUMPSUITS

I found this jumpsuit at Marshall's right before we left for vacation. I know. I know. I told myself that I wasn't going to shop for several weeks, but I am WEAK. No willpower, whatsoever! I just couldn't resist the palm tree print and beach side hues. If this isn't the epitome of summer vacation attire, I don't know what is. If you were in my sandals, I think you would have been suckered in too.

Sorry to be short. We have a date at Disney with a few princesses, Mickey Mouse and some serious roller coaster rides. I hope everyone had fun weekend. I know we didn't take one minute for granted.

Thanks for stopping by!
