Current Cosmetics

It's been quite awhile since I talked about cosmetics or my beauty routine. With the holidays just around the corner, I thought it might be a good time to give you ladies some ideas on ways to get party ready or products to add to your wish list for Christmas.

I am in NO way a beauty/cosmetic guru, the items listed below are products that work for me and my oily/acne prone skin. I am always on the lookout for items that compliment my skin type and ones I want to invest money in for the long haul. Everything featured today has been lifesavers, items I am currently using and highly recommend.

Cosmetic Must haves

Estee Lauder Double Wear is a miracle!! I just started using it about two months ago and should have hopped on the bandwagon when it first launched. I have never used an all-over, full coverage foundation before. I was always hesitant about it because I never wanted a cake-like look. This foundation is super lightweight, provides full coverage and stays on all day. I apply it with a foundation brush, which was also foreign to me, but found that it works well with blending and keeps my fingers mess free.

I then apply Stila's Stay All Day Illuminating Beauty Balm on my forehead, nose, around my eyes and chin. I use my foundation brush to blend this as well. It provides a dewy glow, but be sure to use sparingly. A lot goes a long way.

I finish off my face with the Kat Vov D Lock-It powder and use a kabuki brush instead of the powder sponge. I never leave home without it. It's perfect for on-the-go touch ups. It isn't heavy even though it's considered full coverage. This is a MUST...hands down my favorite ever. I have been using it for months.

I got this Estee Lauder mascara in a gift set and will be purchasing a full size tube as soon as I am finished with my sample. It's one of the best mascaras I have used. It truly lengthens and adds volume to my lashes. I have tried at least a dozen and this one ranks #1.

I am typically a HUGE Urban Decay fan, but tried this Stila Stay All Day Waterproof liquid liner and am sold. Most liquid pens I have tried dried out in a few weeks. This one has been going strong for a few months. It's so easy to use and the tip is precise....it truly stays on allllll day.

I can't believe I haven't mentioned the MAC Paint Pot in Painterly before. I have been using it for over a year. I wear it alone or as an eyeshadow primer. Either way, it is another product that lasts all day and stays in place. It comes in a variety of colors too!

My two current lip colors are Sexy Mother Plucker by Soap & Glory (in Candy Gloss) and an affordable drugstore find from Wet & Wild. I have had several ladies ask about it. The color is Stoplight Red and I love it. What I love even more is that it holds it's color and doesn't bleed.

I love discovering new beauty products, so if you have any recommendations for oily skin, I would love to hear. I hope this post added a few new items to your wish list and products you are hoping to try.

I have been looking for a new foundation that has more coverage than my current CC cream, so I will definitely have to try this one out! Thanks for sharing :)

I use that liner too and it is so great! I really want to try out gel liner because I have heard it is easier to do a wing with, but I can't get away from this one ahah!

I love reading about other people's beauty must-haves! I always get stuck in a rut and use the same stuff over and over. I'm going to pick up some of that lock-it powder, it sounds awesome and has great reviews as well!
