No Heels Required

Floral and Stripe Pattern Mixing

I mentioned on Monday that I attended a conference in Dallas over the weekend and posted what I wore on the first day. After twelve full hours of being in heels, Friday evening I literally couldn't walk. I don't think my feet have hated me so much in my entire life. Saturday morning I wanted nothing to do with any shoe that had the word wedge or heel in the title. Unfortunately, I didn't pack a single pair that didn't have some sort of heel. What was I thinking? Note to self for the future. Luckily, Yosi Samra was kind enough to gift me a pair of flats on Friday and I didn't think twice about what I would be slipping on Saturday morning.

I took a bit of a risk by wearing denim and flats to a style blogger event, and truth be told, a pair of sassy heels probably would have made this look more polished, but I went with it. My feet made me. I wanted to be comfortable and able walk without a limp. There were definitely times I felt under dressed in the sea of skirts, rompers, dresses and three inch shoes, but hopefully I stood out in a positive way.

I scored this floral crop blazer last minute at Francesca's. I couldn't find it online, but did a little searching for you ladies. Below are a few options that are just as fun, bright and adorable. I recommend adding at least one floral print jacket or blazer to your wardrobe this spring season. It's a great staple that can be worn over dresses, with skirts, shorts and pants. I am sure you will be seeing it again very soon.

The whole outfit I'm digging on. Seriously the floral with stripes are such a great combo I need to try! 99.9% of the time I'm in flip flops... no joke. So anytime I leave the house to go ANYWHERE it's in heels or wedges.

I love the whole outfit and I seriously need a pair of those flats! I often feel underdressed without heels but I'm learning that flats can look just as good. I have boxes of heels that I can't wear now as I have fibromyalgia and they leave me in so much pain.

ummm hello flats! I seriously don't know how you did wearing heels all day. I would've been dead lol. Good for you for just doing you, I think it's better to stand alone, no? To define your own style instead of what others define as style :) Love your outfit Shanna!

I love a good heel but they don't love me. On a recent trip to
Vegas, I had to literally stop walking, sit down in our hotel lobby (couldn't even make it), and my husband had to go up to our room and bring me a pair of flats. I still have the healing blisters! I love this blazer and have been looking for something like this. Sooo cute!

The same thing happened to me at Lucky Fabb last Fall! My feet were crying actual tears by day two and I wore my low heeled ankle boots instead of heels;) I LOVE this look, you stand out for your uniqueness and willingness to be comfortable (yet look awesome.) Love.

I am the worst girl about wearing heals. I stick with wedges for the most part lol. When I do wear heels on occasion then I remember why I don't wear them.

Such a great look on you...and I love the punch of prints. Totally admire that you went to this conference solo. It's on my bucket list for this year to attend one, admittedly, I'm scared.

Great floral jacket! Cute flats too. I tend to wear my highest heels primarily when I go to work as I have a pretty sedentary job. Comfy flats are a must if you have to do a lot of walking. Have a wonderful day!
