Nicely Neutral

Last night I met with an old and dear friend who has trusted me enough to also become my client. We spent the evening shopping and styling some looks for her upcoming vacation to Mexico (lucky girl). It ended up being a glorious day here in Austin. The sun was shining and the temps were warm enough to finally wear something other than boots or wellies. Why I didn't mimic the bright day in my outfit choice, I am not sure. What I am sure of is when I wear basic, classic pieces in neutral tones, I feel more pulled together and sophisticated, even if denim is involved.  I posted this picture on Instagram giving a glimpse of what I wore for our appointment. Because you ladies seemed to like it, I decided to round up a few similar pieces to create an almost identical look.

Speaking of denim, I am so happy that I pulled the trigger on these joggers from Forever 21. They are sold out of the darker shade that I wore yesterday, but still have them in the color shown above. They are so comfortable, lightweight, flattering and have a drawstring elastic waist. If you are interested in scooping up a pair, I would size down. I have a feeling you guys are going to be seeing plenty of them over the next several months. They are hands down my favorite piece that I have purchased so far for the upcoming season. Let me just add that spring has finally sprung around these parts. Mr. Meteorologist told me to expect 70 degree weather for the next 7 days. We will see how long it lasts. I plan to start packing up my winter gear and will be holding my breath the entire time.

Joggers are now my bffs, I got my first denim one at Forever 21 and just got a white one as well. They are so comfy. Love this outfit, it is perfectly styled.

Those pants are amazing! I must get a pair of those for spring - when it is warm enough to wear flats or heels again! Love this whole outfit and I wish I could be your client. I could use some help in the style dept! Susan

I always forget that neutrals are a good look lol My first instinct is to always go for bold colors in my outfits, but this is so beautiful and subtle.

Love those denim joggers - this is definitely a combination I would wear, but I'm still on the hunt for the perfect leopard pumps!

Yeah I had a hard time figuring out what to wear today when it said this morning was going to be 27 and high of 64. Love the colors

I can't get past 70 degrees, I am so envious we are still minus temps, oh well. Interesting look, I may have to try to joggers but I have always shied away from elastic ankles ( even in my sweats, go figure I have an elastic ankle phobia) Your look is very inspiring though so I may have to at least sample it.

Shanna - you know I am always honest with you, no matter what, right?! Well, I'm going to try to be as nice as possible with this...but I cannot imagine those jeans being flattering! They remind me of acid wash hammer pants...LOL! But the thing I love about you is that you wear what YOU want, not what other people want you to wear. Black and camel are a great color combo though!
