Gone Sailing

I know that many of you are piled knee deep in snow and that you think the winter months will never end. The last thing on your mind are shorts, dresses or any piece of clothing that relates to warmer temps, but I just couldn't help myself when I came across so many adorable nautical inspired pieces that are popping up in stores and online. Whether your are sitting by the bay, cruising across the lake, setting sail from the dock or looking for seashells along the beach, these affordable styles below are great inspiration for warmer months ahead.

Nautical prints, anchors, stripes, red, white and blue are all patterns and colors we have seen before. Most of us know that this theme is one that's been around for years and keeps coming back. Mixing and matching pieces from this medley are close to endless.

I walked into Old Navy the other day and discovered an entire spring line dedicated to all things of this genre. They have a very similar sequin anchor tank that was a huge hit from J.Crew a few seasons back. This Ahoy sweater is absolutely adorable as are these shorts

As I was perusing one of my favorite online retailers, ModCloth, I came across even more inspiration that honestly put me over the edge to write this post. How fun is this sweatshirt for a breezy, evening boat ride on the lake? I also found this serene gem that looks like something from Anthropologie without the Anthro price.

Even though I haven't purchased many spring or summer pieces just yet, I have definitely been making mental wishlists and everything shared today made the cut. All that's left are tan legs, a boat, 80 degree weather and possibly a frozen drink with a little umbrella. Only a few more months!

Perfect! Going sailing right about now would be amazzzzing. I live really close to Lake Erie and wish it wasn't totally frozen over so sailing could be a possibility! I love the ModCloth sweatshirt!

I'm not one for anchors but, I think an adorable preppy sailing look is so classic and chic!

p.s. Love those navy shorts.

Ahh these would all be so perfect! It is actually warming up here, although I know the cold will return! I'm enjoying every second of not needing a coat, though! I love that bag you picked and will definitely have to check out more of Old Navy's collection!

Actually all I can think about is wearing dresses, skirts, and shorts again. Partly because it'll be me wearing normal clothes again and another part is that I'm just craving spring!

I wish I could sail away at the moment, away from all things snowy. Cannot wait to start wearing the nautical themed fashions. J Crew shorts are my absolute fav so I will be getting myself a pair of these.
Great summary review, thanks for the leads

Hey - good luck with the contest! I've never bought any cowboy boots before but I've definitely seen some cool styles. I think you can definitely put a cool spin on the event. Country music is not known for it's style (sorry Dolly Parton), but new ladies like yourself and Shania Twain will change that. :)
