Messy

peacock print top

Yep, yesterday was a little "messy" when it came to my hair and phone. I had no intentions of actually posting this outfit. I had something else in mind for today, but life happens.

Apparently I have "restored" my iPhone through iCloud one too many times. I believe I have done this since the 3 came out. The thing is, nobody at Apple told me this could cause serious software issues. Now I know.

Anyway, long story short, my new iPhone 6 literally died yesterday. Not because of the phone, but because of a software crash. If you are like me and have NO HOME phone, I was dying. It was out for over two hours and I kept thinking, what if there is an emergency...no one can contact me. What text messages am I missing? I know, sad. Back in the day, I relied on a pager or call waiting. My how times have changed.

We zoomed to the Apple store and luckily got assistance in less than 20 minutes...the phone Gods were on my side...finally! They had to wipe my phone clean and I had to start from scratch. Luckily I still have my contacts and music...the most important parts. iPhone users, beware and ask your Apple rep about restoring from iClould more than a few times.

After all was good again in Apple world, we snapped a few pics in this outfit because I always have my camera in my car, in true blogger fashion.

My hair was a little crazy and I really didn't have any eye make-up on (hence the sunglasses), but we made it work in the nick of time. I almost threw in the Friday blog post towel...thank you Ross, for being there and coming through for me, once again.

Hope you guys have a great weekend. I plan on soaking in a little Pat Green tonight with some great friends, two-stepping and singing at the top of my lungs.

Just Right Rompers

old navy palm print romper
I have had the hardest time finding a romper that doesn't show my "cheeks", is flattering, appropriate for my age and style preference. I swear I have probably tried on a few dozen and almost gave up.

I am so glad that persistence paid off and that I didn't throw in the towel with romping around this summer.

I found a palm print and embroidered chambray romper at Old Navy the other day. I was actually looking for a last minute dress for dinner last weekend. I unexpectedly stumbled upon these two and didn't have time to try them on in the dressing room. I am pretty consistent with my sizing at Old Navy and just grabbed them both, hoping they would fit. YES! They did and better than I expected. I came so close to having buyer's remorse after checkout, but was super pleased with the fit and length. Both are long enough for my taste and are super comfortable for running around this summer with my girls and even for evenings out with friends.

If you've been in the same boat when it comes to finding a romper long enough to cover up your backside, I definitely recommend checking out the options at Old Navy.

When the temps have already hit over 90 degrees, you find and purchase pieces that are loose fitting, comfy and lightweight (and cute, of course)...bring on the heat!

P.S. Here is the a peek at the embroidered chambray romper I posted on Instagram earlier this week.

P.P.S. I purchased a size small in both rompers. I am 5'7 and have a small chest. :)

Floral & Fringe

old navy floral sleeveless top blouse

It is officially summer in my house. Our last day of school was Friday and it was nothing short of go-go-go and GO! I think I pulled in and out of the school parking lot six times, procrastinated on things that I shouldn't have procrastinated on (go figure), had to pack for a weekend trip and met my girls at the bus stop bawling, crying. Not me...them. They do this every single year. They both wish for the last day of school to arrive, but then act like the world is coming to an end when it happens. They loved their teachers this year and will miss their friends. Having two girls is quite the emotional roller coaster ride. I have no idea where they get it from (wink-wink). Let's just say I was doing a happy dance the entire walk home, while consoling, of course. BRING ON SUMMER BREAK and sleeping in!

Ross and I dropped the girls off with his parents and we headed to Boerne, Texas for a yearly couples' weekend getaway for Texas Big Horn Society.  Usually it doesn't fall on the weekend that school lets out. We usually always head to the neighborhood pool to celebrate with friends. We were all a little bummed, but secretly I was happy dancing again for a weekend away with Ross and to celebrate the start of summer break.

I wore this outfit Saturday night for a dinner and live auction. I have had this skirt forever, but it was hiding in the back of my closet. When I grabbed this floral top from Old Navy, a light went off and remembered I had my white skirt and that it would pair perfectly with the top.

I also couldn't wait to wear these Vince Camuto fringe heels. I knew I had to style an outfit around them because I have been dying to wear them since they showed up on my doorstep over a week ago. They run true to size and Ross twirled me round and round on the dance floor Saturday night. If you can find a cute pair of heels that are two-stepping worthy and not fall on your face, you know you've struck gold.
