Weekend Getaway

Another amazing weekend has been documented, signed, sealed and delivered. Ross and I dropped the girls off with his parents and we headed out for a couples Texas Hill Country adventure.

First stop, Becker Vineyards outside of the quaint and adorable town of Fredericksburg. If you live in Texas and are of age, schedule a weekend and do a wine tour. Ross and I only had time to make a quick pit stop at Becker, but numerous vineyards line the highway and there are limo/bus tours available. I did it once before and had the best time. It's a perfect weekend staycation.

After a few samplings of vino, we made our way to Kerrville's Y.O. Ranch Hotel and Resort to meet up with some friends for the Texas Big Horn Society Round Up which is a non-profit organization dedicated to returning bighorn sheep to their native ranges in Texas. We kicked off the event at a gorgeous home in the hills with food, fun and a live auction.

Saturday, the boys golfed most of the day and I headed straight to the pool for some sun and R&R. I am not going to lie, I didn't move until it was time to get ready for the evening's event. This kind of day are what dreams are made of.

We ended the weekend at the annual Round Up banquet where we ate like kings and queens, enjoyed time with friends, took home a surprise from the silent auction and did a little late night dancing.

This is what a no-kid kind of weekend looks like....at least in my world. We met some new friends, spent time with old ones and looking forward to next year's banquet at The Stockyards in Fort Worth.

The Ties That Bind

It's Friday!!! Hallelujah! I'll tell you, the first week of no school just about put me into crazy mode. Trying to stay on top of blogging and my commitments while keeping my girls occupied has been quite the task. How many more days until school starts? Kidding...sort of.

Anyway, as you may or may not know I was awarded the ultimate privilege to be the 2013 Wallis U.S. Blogger Ambassador. Part of this amazing experience is getting to style different pieces from their brand, like this polka dot maxi dress.

Every month Wallis will be featuring a 'this month we'll be wearing' campaign where they pick the top 10 must have products for that month to help you with adding to your wardrobe.

And this maxi dress is one of them. I chose to layer a simple white oxford over this dress and also knot the bottom of it so that my flats wouldn't be hidden under the length. Knotting pieces such as tops, maxi dresses or skirts is a fun way to add a twist and create a fresh look to items that you already own.
